In recent years, new products and new materials have continued to emerge, and the hygiene requirements for products have been further improved. In order to better regulate product development and protect consumer health, the State Administration for Market Regulation (Standardization Administration of the People's Republic of China) recently issued the mandatory national standard "Hygiene Requirements for Disposable Sanitary Products" (GB 15979-2024).
Disposable sanitary products are a type of daily necessities that can help users achieve the purpose of cleaning and hygiene. They are characterized by a wide variety and wide use. This type of product is in direct contact with the human body, and the sanitary condition of the product directly affects the health of the people. As the hygiene habits of Chinese residents continue to improve and safety awareness continues to increase, all sectors of society are paying more and more attention to the health and safety of disposable sanitary products. Since the implementation of the current "Sanitary Standards for Disposable Sanitary Products", it has been widely used in many fields such as health, catering, industrial manufacturing, and medicine, and has played an important role in ensuring the health and safety of products.
This standard was revised by the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention, and mainly revised five aspects.
First, the scope of application of the standard was adjusted, the definition of "disposable sanitary products" was adjusted, and the terms and definitions of categories such as "sanitary wipes", "antibacterial agents" and "antibacterial agents" were added.
Second, the hygiene requirements for raw materials were refined, and the requirements for prohibited substances in raw materials and production water were added.
Third, the hygiene requirements for the production process were optimized, and the production environment hygiene indicators, disinfection effect biological monitoring evaluation and "initial contamination bacteria" in the product hygiene indicators were merged and adjusted into the production process hygiene requirements.
Fourth, the product hygiene requirements have been strengthened. According to the health risks of different disposable sanitary products, the physical and chemical indicators of pH value and residual amount of migratable fluorescent whitening agents have been added according to the risk level, and the microbial contamination indicators and toxicological safety requirements have been adjusted.
Fifth, the relevant detection methods have been updated and supplemented, the fungal detection method has been adjusted, the ethylene oxide residue detection method has been optimized, and new physical and chemical indicator detection methods and some antibacterial (inhibitory) test methods have been added.
